Indiana: Lightning McQueen
Who better to represent the state of the Indianapolis 500 than Lightning McQueen who loves to go fast? The cocky, arrogant, overconfident car would have no problem entering the race and doing everything he could to win.
And while those traits may not represent Indiana well, his new understanding and caring personality that he gains after going through life in Radiator Springs would. A character that’s willing to change who he is when he sees how awful he was before is definitely something to aspire to and certainly something Hoosiers could be proud of.
A selfless character willing to help those in need would be a great representative for Indiana.
He could even start his own racing headquarters in Indiana like the one he began in Radiator Springs. It would bring jobs to the state, and he could encourage some of the broken down or sad cars to believe in themselves. He’d become an Indianapolis 500 coach for cars that no one believed in anymore. Like a horse whisperer or a sports trainer for cars!
Lightning McQueen and his team, Mater, Sally, Filmore, Sarge, and Luigi would all work together to either train one of them to win the biggest race in the state or train other underdog cars to beat the odds.
Indiana may not be the most glamorous state in most people’s minds but with Lightning McQueen as their mascot, everyone would want to make it to the Hoosier State and not just for the Indianapolis 500. It’d become the top place to visit if you’re interested in car racing.
