44. Cargo (movie)

Premiere date: May 18, 2018

What Cargo is about: Cargo on Netflix is set in dystopia Australia after a violent pandemic (zombie plague) wipes out most of humanity. A man races to clock to save his infant daughter. He is infected himself, and he must get his daughter to safety before turning into an undead creature.

Why you need to watch this: If the title of the movie (and synopsis) rings a bell, that’s because the Netflix movie is based on the 2013 short film of the same name. If you have already seen it, though, don’t let that discourage you from watching Cargo on Netflix.

Though the full-length feature is based on the short movie, Cargo promises many surprises as it doesn’t stick to the original script fully. This is obvious from the trailer. We’ll be seeing more characters, twists, and perhaps even a different outcome, we won’t spoil it!

Watch Cargo on Netflix if you love the horror genre, especially zombies, but feel as if you have already seen it all! Many Netflix viewers love searching for movies based on the end of the world as we know it, but the plot is usually the same. Cargo, however, offers a different story and a far more interesting concept.

A fair warning to those expecting heavy drama and action: Don’t. Cargo will captivate viewers with its engaging story, and who doesn’t feel for a baby? But this is not your typical action-horror, and it’s definitely nothing like The Walking Dead.

Cargo stars Martin Freeman, Simone Landers, and Anthony Hayes among others. Despite the movie having premiered nearly two years ago, fans are still hoping for a sequel as the ending of Cargo does set up the possibility of the story continuing.
