32. Tuca & Bertie (TV series)

Premiere date: May 3, 2019

What Tuca & Bertie is about: The animated Netflix series follows Tuca and Bertie, two 30-year-old best gal pals in tackling the world together. The two share unconditional bestie love despite being completely different.

While Tuca is overconfident to the point of coming off as cocky, Bertie is shy and careful about everything she does. Tuca is also very much care-free, while Bertie prefers to keep it safe and daydream. They do say opposites attract, and that’s how Tuca and Bertie are!

Why you need to watch this: If the synopsis for Tuca & Bertie give you Comedy Central Broad City vibes, you’re not alone. Now that Broad City is over, fans were hoping to replace their Ali and Ilana needs with Tuca and Bertie. You have to admit, both character descriptions even sound similar, right? But, unfortunately, not enough people watched to keep the Netflix animated series alive.

The streaming giant was quick to cancel the series. And if you want our opinion, they didn’t even give Tuca & Bertie a fair chance! Fans were left disappointed and angry, and understandably so! Best of all? Tuca is voiced by Tiffany Haddish and Bertie by Ali Wong, you literally couldn’t ask for a better cast. It was voted by many as one of the best comedies of 2019. Netflix truly made the wrong call by canceling this.

Despite the comedy being canceled, it’s still a great watch! I recommend playing Tuca & Bertie the next time to turn on Netflix for some big laughs. Think of it as BoJack Horseman meets Broad City!
