33. The Princess Switch (movie)

Premiere date: Nov. 16, 2018

What The Princess Switch is about: The plot of this Netflix movie may not be original. It follows a princess, Margaret Delacourt, who happens to look identical to a baker, Stacy DeNovo, living in Chicago. The two bump into each other and, well, you can guess the rest! Tired of the royal life and desperate for a break, Princess Margaret trades places with Stacy. Vanessa Hudgens portrays both the princess and the baker.

Why you need to watch this: Why should you watch The Princess Switch when even we can admit and say this is a tired concept? Because admit it, it’s your guilty pleasure! It’s bonkers, predictable, and so incredibly sappy, The Princess Switch is everything you know you secretly crave. Netflix may have brilliant romcoms, but they are also home to bits of guilty pleasures, and we are so here for it.

Ignore all the haters and let’s put it this way: If no one was watching these movies (because Hudgens stars is several) Netflix wouldn’t continue making them! So pop open a bottle of wine and eat some chocolates, invite the girls over, too! That said, there is a sequel coming soon, titled The Princess Switch: Switched Again. But it won’t be about what you think, not at all! Netflix knows better.

Check it out, The Princess Switch: Switched Again will follow Margaret and Stacy face a NEW lookalike, “party girl Fiona,” who is up to no good. Yes, there’s going to be a third doppelgänger! And yes, Fiona will also be played by Vanessa Hudgens. You can’t make this stuff up. If you haven’t seen The Princess Switch, what are you waiting for? Don’t let a new decade pass you by.
