41. The Haunting of Hill House (TV series)

Premiere date: Oct. 12, 2018

What The Haunting of Hill House is about: The series follow Hugh and Olivia Crain and their five children, Steven, Shirley, Theodora, Luke, and Nell. The family of six move into Hill House with plans to renovate the mansion and sell it. They stay longer than they intended and it’s not long before they all experience paranormal activity and Olivia appears to be the main target.

Why you need to watch this: Those who have yet to watch Hill House are missing out! Maybe you have stayed away from it because horror just isn’t your genre, and we totally get that. But Hill House is more than a ghost story. The series is about a dysfunctional family with severe communication issues and grudges, but there’s nothing but love for each other at the center of it all.

The Haunting of Hill House premiered last year just in time for Halloween chills and thrills! We have since been looking forward to more episodes in what was promised to be an anthology series. I have to say, I don’t think I speak for only myself when I share that I’m a bit upset a new season didn’t premiere in 2019. There’s typically only one year in between seasons. What gives?

Sure, there are a few exceptions, but with how successful Hill House turned out to be, fans are surprised it has taken this long. We get it, all great and amazing things take time, but when will we see a second season? Rest assured, it’s coming very soon! Netflix has been teasing the debut sometime in 2020.

The upcoming second season is titled The Haunting of Bly Manor, and it is based on the 1989 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
