Servant season 1, episode 7 introduces darkest theory yet
By Sandy C.
Servant continues to frighten viewers while at the same time not providing audiences with answers. But have they been telling us more than we know?
Another episode of Servant on Apple TV Plus is out and it’s the most frightening of all. Spoilers ahead if you have yet to watch the latest chapter of this puzzling and mysterious series.
Episode 7, “Boba,” introduces another character into the mix, Natalie, Dorothy’s “therapist” and good friend. Outside of the trio, Natalie is the only one who knows that Jericho died. She also seems to know more than she would like about how Jericho passed away and Julian and Sean’s actions. More theories have surfaced thanks to the multiple puzzle pieces spilled over episode 7.
We see Leanne go through great lengths to hide Jericho from Natalie. We know Leanne isn’t the most careful person, she has allowed people into the home before. One theory is that Jericho is still a doll. In order for people to see him, Leanne may have to do some sort of spell or magic.
Never mind the mystery of whether Jericho is truly alive again or not, there’s also the fact that we have no idea how he died in the first place. New theory is that Dorothy killed him, either on accident or due to a bad postpartum depression episode. This would mean Julian and Sean covered it up.
It’s not going to be that simple, though. A dark, dark theory is out on Reddit. And it is so dark and sinister, I’m hoping it isn’t true. Here it is according to one Reddit user: Dorothy killed and cooked Jericho while on a psychotic break. She served him for dinner to an unsuspecting Sean and Julian (maybe even Natalie?). It’s wild, I know. But it would explain a few things:
- The focus on meat
- Sean’s lack of taste buds
- Food is featured in every episode (and most of it looks disgusting)
- Natalie commenting how it wasn’t long ago that they had dinner together
With how little each episode is revealing, I say it’s time to look between the lines and dig up the clues we are likely being given and just don’t realize it. What are your theories?
