Maya Hawke likely returning as Robin in Stranger Things 4

Maya Hawke likely confirmed to return as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things 4, according to a tweet from the Stranger Things Writers.

It sounds like Maya Hawke will be back as Robin in Stranger Things 4!

According to a report from Bloody Disgusting, the Stranger Things Writers Twitter Account tweeted about Robin being in Stranger Things 4. Later, they deleted the tweet.

The first tweet was after a fan asked the Stranger Things Writers what their favorite line of Robin’s was. They replied with an answer, but in another quote tweet, they also added “also a season 4 line so you’re going to have to wait to get that answer.”

Obviously, that means that, at this stage of the writing process, Robin will be back in Stranger Things 4. Of course, anything could happen and things could change. It seems likely, at this point, that Hawke will be back for the fourth season of the hit series.

I don’t think this news should surprise any fans of the series. Robin was a fan favorite from season 4. At San Diego Comic-Con this year, I saw more Scoops Ahoy/Robin and Steve cosplay than any other Stranger Things characters.

Hawke’s character is also an incredibly important piece to this story. Robin and Steve are best friends, and when we left them, they had just started new jobs at the video store in Hawkins. Their partnership and friendship was one of the best parts of the third season. The Duffer Brothers and the Stranger Things creative team is excellent at capturing lightning in a bottle and then using these strong relationships between characters as the foundation of the series.

Aside from all the other supernatural elements, the whole show is built on friendship and family. Robin is now a part of the family, and because of that, the character has to be back for the biggest mission yet in Stranger Things 4.

We still don’t know what role will play in the new season. We’ll likely learn more about that soon when Stranger Things 4 starts filming next month (January 2020). Of course, this casting news is not official until Stranger Things and Netflix announce it.

With production starting in January, I’m hoping we’ll get to see another video from the table read announcing the start of production. If Hawke is still playing Robin in season 4, we’ll get to see her at the table read.
