Let’s get the list started with a holiday favorite, Home for the Holidays.

1. Home for the Holidays (1995)

Director: Jodie Foster
Writer: Chris Radant and W.D. Richter
Starring: Holly Hunter, Robert Downey, Jr., Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning, Dylan McDermott, Geraldine Chaplin, and Steve Guttenberg.

The story centers around single mother Claudia Larson (Holly Hunter) who travels home to have Christmas after her daughter decided not to join her for the holidays. Claudia isn’t looking forward to spending the holidays with her dysfunctional family and having her entire life be under scrutiny. As typical with small-town families, parents have specific expectations about how their children should live and behave.

Soon Claudia gets tired of her family’s antics but doesn’t want to leave until her brother Tommy (Robert Downey, Jr.) arrives. When Tommy does arrive, he brings a friend with him and the sparks begin to fly between Claudia and Leo (Steve Guttenberg). Will Claudia find love this holiday season, you will have to watch to find out.

Home for the Holidays  is a great family movie and can be enjoyed by the entire family, it is heartwarming and perfect for the holidays.
