You season 2 is coming to Netflix in one month
By Bryce Olin
You season 2 premieres on Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019. Penn Badgely, Victoria Pedretti and Ambyr Childers star in the new season of the Netflix original series.
We’re officially one month away from the release date of You season 2 on Netflix!
You season 2 starring Penn Badgley premieres on Thursday, Dec. 26 (the day after Christmas). Netflix announced the news in November with a new poster for the new season. It prominently features Joe Goldberg, the main character from the first season of the show.
The second season is, technically, the show’s first season as a Netflix original series. The show, which is based on the book of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, originally was a Lifetime show. Netflix picked it up as an original series and renewed it for season 2.
The new season is based on the second book of Kepnes’s series, Hidden Bodies.
In the season, Joe is moving from New York City to Los Angeles. There, he meets Love Quinn, played by The Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti. Hopefully, it doesn’t end the way the first season ended.
We’ve yet to see the trailer for season 2. We’ll be sure to let you know when that happens. Below, you can see the poster announcing the release date.
There are a few new characters joining the cast of You season 2. Along with Pedretti, James Scully, Adwin Brown, Jenna Ortega, Carmela Zumbado, Chris D’Elia, Robin Lord Taylor, Charlie Barnett and more. We’ll also get to see more of Ambyr Childers, who plays Candace, Joe’s ex who we met at the end of the first season, is also back for season 2, and it appears we’ll be seeing a lot more of her.
I’m very excited to see what’s going to go down in the new season. It’s also exciting that Netflix is releasing this new season over the holidays. Hopefully, you have some time off and can binge-watch the second season!
As mentioned, we haven’t seen the trailer for season 2 yet. Netflix should be sharing the trailer soon!
