10 underrated movies to watch on Disney Plus

9. Turner and Hooch (1989)
Director: Roger Spottiswoode
Writer: Dennis Shryack and Michael Blodgett
Starring: Tom Hanks, Mare Winningham, Craig T. Nelson, Reginald VelJohnson, Scott Paulin, J.C. Quinn, and John McIntire
In Turner and Hooch, Detective Scott Turner, played by Tom Hanks, resides in a small California town where nothing happens. The week before he transfers to a larger police department where he can actually solve cases, there is a murder. An old man who lives on the docks is killed and the only witness to the murder is a dog named Hooch.
Turner temporarily adopts the dog hoping it will help him solve the crime, and this is where the fun comes in. Turner is a neat and tidy person, and Hooch is a dirty unkept slobbering dog. The adjustment period where the two learn or try to learn to get along is great. Hanks is great as Turner trying to deal with having a pet.
Turner and Hooch didn’t totally fail at the box office, but you don’t see it streamed on any of the big streamers, which is a shame. It is a great family movie to watch plus it is hilarious as well.
