The Magicians season 4 coming to Netflix in December 2019

The Magicians fans are in for a treat this holiday season when the fourth season drops on Netflix on Monday, December 16, 2019.

The SyFy Original series The Magicians is returning to Netflix this December just in time for the holiday break. The Magicians season 4 will be added to Netflix on Monday, Dec. 16.

Whether it’ll be your first watch through of the series or a dedicated fan ready for a rewatch, Netflix is the best place to stream the show before season 5 airs in January.

Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger that upended the entire series—all of the main character’s memories had been wiped and replaced with new identities. While completely erasing the memories of almost all the main characters is certainly shocking, it’s an even more dire situation after realizing that Eliot (Hale Appleman) has been possessed by the Monster previously trapped in Castle Blackspire.

Before the season finale, The Magicians season 3 took all of our favorite Brakebills students on a quest to restore magic to the worlds after it was shut off in the season 2 finale. Quentin (Jason Ralph) teams up with Julia (Stella Maeve), who still has some residual magic left over, to help find a  rumored “backdoor” for magic. Meanwhile, trapped in Fillory since magic was shut off,  Margot (Summer Bishil) and Eliot must deal with the Fairy Queen’s ever-increasing (and ever-stranger) demands.

When Quentin discovers the storybook containing the quest, he needs all of his friends to come together and obtain the Seven Keys. It’s this journey and this season that made The Magicians stand out in SyFy’s lineup of TV shows and go from pretty good to great. Season 3 also features the fan-favorite and critically acclaimed episode “A Life in a Day,” featuring the extremely popular ship, Queliot, completing a life-changing quest together.

While there won’t be spoilers here in this article, where season 3 has almost universal fan approval, season 4 proved to be very contentious by the time the finale rolled around. With many fans of the show exclusively watching with Netflix, it will be very interesting to see if they feel the same way as many fans did earlier this year.
