Hulu recently announced that the third season of Marvel’s Runaways would be the last, coinciding with the rebranded “Runaways: The Final Season” title for season 3. Is this really the end?

Earlier this week, Hulu made the slightly disappointing announcement that Marvel’s Runaways is canceled. The upcoming season that’ll premiere in December will be the final chapter in the superhero saga.

More than anything, this comes as a surprise because of Runaways’ upcoming crossover with Cloak And Dagger. That alone gave us the impression the two superhero teams would continue having adventures together. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

With both Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger and Runaways now canceled, it appears as though the end is nigh for them all. But on the other hand, maybe Disney has plans for the aforementioned heroes to continue on another platform.

Seeing as how Disney Plus has the first season of Marvel’s Runaways listed on in its’ catalog of available titles, perhaps the property will be shared with Disney’s exclusive streaming service. If so, the central cast could pop up in a show like WandaVision or Hawkeye. Or, maybe Marvel Studios will develop additional One-Shots set around the Runaways.

Could these heroes make a move to Disney Plus?

Cloak And Dagger could feasibly appear on Disney Plus in a similar capacity considering the property is essentially dead. Nothing is preventing Cloak and Dagger from being used again, but after Freeform failed to renew the series for a junior season, there don’t appear to be any plans to have Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) return.

Because of that, Cloak and Dagger could make a permanent move over to Disney Plus. The parameters of said transplant are unclear, but we can definitely picture Tandy and Tyrone dropping into Doctor Strange’s corner of the universe, or maybe even alongside the Agents of SHIELD.

All things considered, these cancellations haven’t convinced us that the upcoming season of Marvel’s Runaways will be the last time that we see the Pride Kids or their new comrades. And if our hunch is correct, there may be a follow-up in development.

Do you think this is the end of these characters or will they appear again in the MCU extended universe? Let us know in the comments.
