Into The Dark: Pooka 2 needs to happen and here’s why
By Paul Zuniga
The first season of Blumhouse’s Into The Dark series introduced audiences to the adorable Pooka and fans haven’t stopped talking about it. Will a sequel happen?
Before jumping into any theories on Pooka’s future, it’s worth mentioning that the fuzzy animal recently popped up in another episode of Blumhouse’s Into The Dark series. The lovable creature didn’t make a full return with Wilson (Nyasha Hatendi) donning the suit, but fans did catch a glimpse of Pooka nonetheless.
The November episode entitled Pilgrim reintroduced us to Pooka during a casual interaction between Tate (Antonio Raul Corbo) and Joey (Reign Edwards). It doesn’t factor into the actual plot, the doll simply flickers on as Joey walks out of her brother’s room. When the toy is triggered, it repeats Tate’s words in the most ominous way possible.
The aforementioned scene was rather short, but the mere sight of Pooka gives us the impression that Hulu is trying to tease a sequel. Nothing official has been announced and the anthology format suggests there won’t be follow-ups. Pilgrim’s production team taking the time to include a Pooka Easter egg in the latest episode suggests otherwise.
Assuming there is more to come, the question remains: Where will Pooka show up next? The logical conclusion is in another episode, but our instincts tell us Hulu and Blumhouse are developing a feature-length film for the fuzzy creature from Hell. That’s just our hunch at this point.

If something is in the works, Blumhouse needs to give fans an update sooner rather than later. We’ve been waiting long enough and a definitive answer needs to be provided. Hopefully, the production company listens to the outpouring of support for Pooka, so Nacho Vigalondo and Gerald Olson can get started.
Seeing as how Vigalondo directed the initial episode, it would make sense for him to be involved with the sequel. He probably already has ideas for what he wants to do, and they more than likely begin where season 1, episode 3 left off.
To quickly recap, Into The Dark: Pooka concluded with Wilson realizing that a majority of his adventure was a delusion. Not everything falls into that category but enough did to blind Wilson from the truth. And in the end, he found himself in the midst of a tragic car accident.
Will Pooka appear in a follow-up installment?
The silver lining is that Wilson survived the ordeal. He was slightly injured after the crash but appeared stable when the paramedics arrived. There’s no telling how authorities will respond to the incident, though Wilson’s fractured psyche is going to be a big red flag for them, especially with so many dead bodies around.
Because of that factor, Wilson is probably going to end up in a mental institution. He’ll be physically safe there but Pooka’s hauntings won’t desist. Perhaps dealing with hallucinations of the fuzzy mascot will be Wilson’s priority in a presumed second episode, or a movie, depending on what happens.
