The Mandalorian was added to Disney Plus on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and we have some big questions after watching the series premiere! Spoilers ahead!

The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney Plus! The first live-action Star Wars series doesn’t disappoint in its first episode, titled “Chapter 1.”

After watching the first episode, I have a few big questions that could have major implications for the future of Star Wars. And, yes, they all have to do with the reveal at the end of the episode.

There are MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! Please turn back if you haven’t seen the first episode of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus yet.

1. Is that really what we think it is?

Now, I understand why Disney didn’t want to share screeners for The Mandalorian. It’s all starting to make sense!

At end of the first episode of the series, the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), after getting some help by IG-11 (voiced by Taika Waititi), finds a little green baby with a Hey, Arnold head, massive ears, and three fingers on its hand. Yes, ladies and gents, that’s a baby Yoda!

We don’t know a lot about Yoda’s history and origin from the movies, and I’m pretty sure Yoda is the only character whose origin isn’t explained.

I’m guessing we’re going to be finding out more about that soon! But, I have more questions about Baby Yoda.

2. Is the baby actually 50 years old?

Okay, so this is another part of the twist. The Mandalorian and the IG-11 are looking for a 50-year-old person. We’re all assuming he’s going to find someone related to the first trilogy, so this is a pretty big shocker.

I don’t have the answer to this one, but I know that Yoda was super, super old. According to the Star Wars database, he’s 900 years old, and he trained Jedi for 800 years!

Perhaps, whatever Yoda and Baby Yoda are age much more slowly than the rest of the world. I find that hard to believe because, again, Yoda trained Jedi for 800 years. So, are we just supposed to assume the Baby Yoda, who would be 50 years old and still be a baby, would grow enough to begin training Jedis in another 50 years? I don’t think so.

I’m more than intrigued by this reveal.

3. How does this factor into the Greater Star Wars story?

Aside from the Baby Yoda being important to this show, there’s reason to believe this reveal could have implications for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We know that this show takes place five years after The Return of the Jedi and two decades before The Force Awakens. There’s a chance, depending on how The Mandalorian turns out, that we could meet baby Yoda, who is probably going to be a little older, in The Rise of Skywalker.

I’m assuming that will be the direction this goes. This big reveal opens up a big door in terms of what’s possible for Star Wars IX. I can’t wait to see what happens.

Bonus: Wouldn’t it be more fun to binge-watch the series at one time?

Yes! Netflix has the right idea when it comes to streaming TV. I want to jump in and stream the next episode immediately. Unfortunately, I have to wait until Friday, Nov. 15, to see the second episode of The Mandalorian.
