Lady Sif (Loki)

Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) hasn’t been seen in the MCU for some time, and she’s due for an appearance. Fans expected the Asgardian warrior to drop in during the climactic battle of Avengers: Endgame, but they were sorely disappointed by her absence.

The reason Sif was left out didn’t have to do with creative differences between the actress and directors as some online theories suggested. Contrary to what was said, Alexander quietly dropped out of the MCU because of her obligations to NBC’s Blindspot. Luckily, her schedule has opened up since then.

There are still a few episodes left for Alexander to shoot, indicated by her recent return to set. Alexander underwent knee surgery about a month ago and is back on set for the remainder of season 5. Keep in mind that Alexander’s obligation to the show will conclude before the year’s end.

Once she’s done with Blindspot, Alexander could potentially reprise her role as Lady Sif in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The logical point for her return is Thor: Love And Thunder, though a cameo on one of the Disney Plus series would be better to build up anticipation.

Since Alexander has endured an extended hiatus from the Marvel universe, she needs to make a few appearances before jumping right into another MCU movie. Plenty of fans know who Alexander is, but to appeal to wider audiences, we need a refresher course.

As far as which series she could cameo on, Loki seems like a safe bet. It takes place shortly after the Battle of New York which means Lady Sif could pop up in some capacity. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be traveling throughout the universe so meeting up with an old comrade is believable. That being said, Sif could just as easily have a bit part in Marvel’s What If..? series.

Marvel Studios’ Loki is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2021.
