15 Marvel characters that fans should expect to see on Disney Plus

War Machine (Falcon and the Winter Soldier)
Life is probably going to be hard for Rhodey (Don Cheadle) after Avengers: Endgame, mainly because his best friend is dead. One might see this development as a push in the opposite direction of life, but perhaps, he will take up the Iron Man mantle until someone worthy steps forward.
Without there being any sort of Iron Man movie in development, James Rhodes becoming the interim Iron Man on Falcon and the Winter Soldier makes the most sense for his character-arc. The world is going to need a symbol to believe in when Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) take on John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and War Machine should prepare to handle damage control in the meantime.
While the fight between Walker and Falcon remains shrouded in mystery, the clues so far point to a dispute over Captain America’s mantle. And with such a conflict happening in the public eye, the need for a hero like Iron Man will be greater than ever.
We should also point out that James Rhodes assuming Tony Stark’s namesake isn’t unheard of. It’s happened in the comics, which means there could be some potential connectivity with the MCU. Fans are looking to Pepper Potts or Morgan Stark to become Tony’s successor but neither is ready to take on that burden just yet, at least not so soon after losing their iron protector.
All things considered, Rhodey would probably jump at the opportunity to suit up in a nano-tech armor. He received some sort of upgrade in Avengers: Endgame but it wasn’t even remotely close to what Tony was equipped with. Who knows, maybe the nano-tech can be used to heal his broken spine. The injury has weighed on Rhodes since Captain America: Civil War and it’s about time he gets a reprieve from the pain.
Marvel Studios’ Falcon And The Winter Soldier is scheduled for release in 2020.
