New Hulu movies and shows coming to the streaming network in November 2019 including two of the newer Hulu originals: Booksmart and Dollface and the classic movie Chinatown.
Halloween is over, and with it’s leaving, the holiday season begins with Thanksgiving and soon after Christmas. So, the holiday movies and shows also make their arrival on Hulu and with them, the feel-good energy that comes with them.
Hulu announces its shows and movies for November, many of which are the warm and fuzzy holiday shows. But there is also a list of some really great repeat movies sprinkled with new releases and holiday shows. With this list, you are sure to find something you will love along with Hulu’s new releases.
One of those is the Fairly Odd Christmas that was released on Nov. 1. It follows the antics of Timmy Turner and his fairy godparents trying to save Christmas. The movie is adapted from a very popular animated TV cartoon titled Fairly Oddparents. Yes, I watch animated cartoons and this one was really cute. Maybe a little sappy, but fun to watch and it’s great for all ages and perfect for the holiday season.
We cannot have a good feeling Christmas without Home for the Holidays, a movie I totally loved and watch over and over again. Holly Hunter stars in this story about Claudia who goes home for Christmas and spends the holidays with her dysfunctional family. Will Claudia have a Merry Christmas? Well you will have to watch the movie to find out, but trust me it’s worth it.
Another feel-good movie on this list that is worth watching is Under the Tuscan Sun, starring Diane Lane. I have watched this movie numerous times and it is still a favorite of mine and is a great all-around movie to watch. The story centers around Frances Mayes who depressed from a terrible divorce is given a trip of a lifetime from her friends. A trip to Italy, where she slowly rediscovers herself and her passion for life. Gorgeous scenery added to the story makes this a great family movie to watch.
Olivia Wilde makes her directorial debut with the streaming of Booksmart on Hulu to be released Nov. 18. The story centers around two best friends on the eve of their high school graduation. They somehow feel that they missed out on their lives, and decided to try and cram their four years of high school into one fun-filled night.
Another new release is Dollface which is a TV series centering around Jules, who was dumped by her long-time boyfriend. Now she has to define herself as a woman and individual rather than through her relationship.
A great movie Chinatown is on the list. It is a classic that stars Jack Nicholson that was released in 1974 and centers around Los Angeles detective J.J. “Jakes” Gittes who was hired by Evelyn Mulwray to investigate her husband’s sneaky activities. Except, what was supposed to be a routine investigation turns out to be a lot more than he expected.
Of course, I have to have my horror fix no matter what time of the year it is, and I was very pleased to see a really great horror movie The Ring on the list. An investigative reporter researches what she thinks is an ‘urban legend’ where if you watch a mysterious video, you die within seven days after watching it. Unfortunately, it looks like it might not be an ‘urban legend’ after all. This movie is spooky and eerie – definitely worth watching.
Hulu’s November is off to a great start with these shows and the watching only gets better as the month progresses with the rest of list. Take a peek and see what Hulu is offering and then take your pick of what you are in the mood to watch.
