The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan is expected to make her grand return in season 11, though recent hints from showrunner Angela Kang suggest that it’ll happen sooner than we thought.

Not long ago, The Walking Dead‘s showrunner Angela Kang spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Cohan’s return to the AMC series. She didn’t say much, but fortunately, her comment about Maggie Greene reprising her role before the end of season 10 tells us all we need to know.

The reason Kang’s tease is so important is that Maggie (Cohan) could potentially make her way back to Alexandria and the allied communities during the massive fight at hand. The Whisperers are slowly preparing for a showdown so Alexandria’s Militia is going to need all the help it can get, especially when the Skins have a horde at their disposal.

On the other side of things, the community where Maggie and Georgie (Jayne Atkinson) have been holed up could possess a cache of unused weapons. And if they were to bring a sum of them to Alexandria, the Militia would have a much better chance at winning.

The communities are only at Alpha’s mercy because they can’t shoot it out with her group like they used to. We witnessed in the latest standoff that Alpha’s crew of bodyguards are packing a couple of assault rifles and various pistols while Michonne’s group only had crossbows and close-range weapons to fight back with. But with an equal amount of guns in hand, the odds would change significantly.

What’s we’re most interested in is that we’ll finally get a chance to see Herschel Rhee in action. He was only around a year old when Maggie left to join Georgie so he’d be about eight years old today, old enough to make an impression like Judith (Cailey Fleming) has. The question is: What young actor could be cast as Maggie’s son?

There’s also the matter of Maggie beginning a romantic relationship with Dante (Juan Javier Cardenas). His comic counterpart becomes involved with Maggie during the Whisperer war so her coming arrival may be accompanied by an intimate encounter with him.
