6. Jessica Jones

Cancelled after: 3 seasons

We have arrived to the section of the list where the shows that have been canceled truly sting. Personally, Jessica Jones is one of my favorite shows of all-time. The first season is so captivating and beautiful. Krysten Ritter brings Jessica Jones to life in a way fans didn’t imagine they’d see.

I’ll be the first to admit that season two is a bit disappointing. I wasn’t expecting it to live up to the first one, almost all shows never do, but I did want a better story. The series bringing back Jessica’s mom feels so unnecessary. The fallout between Jessica and Trish is also not something I was looking forward to. Who wants to see two best friends break up?

Jessica Jones returned with a third season and my expectations were high for several reasons. For one, it’s the final season, of course, I want it to end brilliantly like the characters deserve. Second, the cast and crew are aware that this is their final round. Therefore, they could have planned ahead and given fans something truly amazing.

Unfortunately, though it was better than the second season, Jessica Jones season three is only just “okay.” The villain is compelling and mysterious, I’ll give him that much. He’s no Killgrave, but he’ll do for a third season. But after the fifth episode, the adventure dies down. It does pick up towards the end, and we do get to see Luke Cage one last time.

Still, another season that wasn’t so rushed would have been so much better! Not to mention, we still didn’t get that Luke and Jessica ending we all have been wishing for from the start.
