9. GLOW

Canceled after: 4 seasons

Glow on Netflix was given the average life expectancy of a regular series on the streaming giant, so we can’t say we didn’t truly see it coming. However, just like Girlboss, shows like Glow are desperately needed. Especially nowadays. Simply put, we need more shows that champion women and diversity.

The comedy-drama was created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. It is set in the 1980s (also known as some of the best years) and follows several characters all part of the women’s professional wrestling circuit called Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which is where “GLOW” comes from. The series is fun, bright, and packed with drama. After its first season, Netflix was quick to renew Glow for a second and even a third. But now, fans are all waiting for the fourth and final season due 2020.

More specifically, Glow mostly focuses on Ruth Wilder, a struggling actress who breaks into the field by entering the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Even though she doesn’t get along very well with the GLOW director, she gives it her best. And, don’t worry, we won’t just see their lives inside the ring, but outside, too.

Despite the final season on its way, I highly recommend you watch Glow. Not only will you be able to catch up to all the episodes well before season four premieres, but, since the cast and crew are aware of the finale ahead, I’m sure they will give this series a proper and well-deserved close.
