Release Year: 2019

Directed By: Steve Paley

Starring: Iliza Shlesinger

Release Date: Tuesday, Nov. 19

What could we use more going into the holiday season than a good laugh? From the stress the season brings to the rush to complete your goals by the end of the year, there’s no time we’re more in need of comedy than around the holidays. Luckily, Netflix plots a whole month of new comedy specials this November, including hilarious specials from Seth Meyers and the aforementioned Jeff Garlin. But the laughs keep on going with Iliza Shlesinger’s fifth Netflix special called Iliza: Unveiled.

In Iliza: Unveiled, Shlesinger returns to the after last year’s special to riff on the life changes she’s experienced since then. Having gotten married, the comedian has plenty of new humorous stories to tell about the process of planning a wedding and everything from garters to the ups and downs of honeymooning. Of course, she’s armed with witty takes on bachelorette parties and the inevitable dangers of a “zombie bachelorette army.” Iliza: Unveiled, like in a wedding, pulls back the veil on the funny and surely relatable truths about getting married.

Iliza Shlesinger won Last Comic Standing in 2008 and has hosted a number of shows, including her own short-lived talk show on Freeform called Truth & Iliza. Iliza: Unveiled follows the comedian’s four previous Netflix specials: 2013’s War Paint, 2015’s Freezing Hot, 2016’s Confirmed Kills and 2018’s Elder Millennial. Before catching the new material in her upcoming fifth special on Nov. 19, binge-watch the four previous specials for a taste of what to expect.
