12. Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!

Release Date: Friday, Nov. 1

Queer Eye has traveled all across the country and even to Australia, bringing their combined lifestyle expertise to the homes of humans in need of some help. But for a special four-episode mini-season, the new Fab Five heads to Japan for the aptly titled Queer Eye: We’re in Japan! for a culture shock of their own. The special season arrives after this summer’s fourth season and before the upcoming fifth season for an exciting palette cleanser to end the year in style.

Queer Eye: We’re in Japan! finds the Fab Five heading to Tokyo, Japan with Kiko Mizuhara as their guide in each of the four episodes, and comedian Naomi Watanabe will appear as a special guest as the group gives some heroes a makeover (a.k.a. make-better). Along the journey, the Fab Five immerse themselves in the Japanese culture and learn a thing or two themselves about the cuisine, fashion, design and culture — everything — through firsthand experiences.

Netflix’s Queer Eye revival has proven successful. Since its 2018 premiere, the series has won two consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, as well as a GLAAD Media Award. The series has received positive reception from audiences and critics alike, which will surely give Queer Eye a lengthy life at Netflix beyond its fifth season next year. Expect more special seasons like this, but first head to Japan with the Fab Five when the new episodes drop at the top of the month.
