Kelly Clarkson promised huge news about Lucifer season 5 and she did not fail to deliver! Rejoice, Lucifans, the final season of our favorite series will be split in two parts!

Lucifans are all super jealous of Kelly Clarkson, and yes, envy may be a sin, but I say that fits right in with the series Lucifer! Recently, the singer-talk show host visited the set of Lucifer and the handsome devil himself casually dropped the news about how the final season will be split in two parts.

Right around the 4-minute mark of the video (which you can check out below), Ellis shares that Netflix will be dropping the first half of the season, which will be eight episodes, and after a “little break” the remaining eight episodes will follow!

So, if you were hoping for two more seasons instead of just this final one, this is a pretty nice compromise.

This is amazing news for so many reasons! For starters, now we feel even better about events not being so rushed for the sake of time. Before, we couldn’t believe it would all come to an end with only 10 episodes. Luckily, Netflix was quick to give a 16-episode order, instead. But now, we’re even more happy about how the stories will take their time.

Another bit of Lucifer season 5 news, in case you missed it, episode 4 is going to be quite the treat! The cast and crew have put together a musical episode. You can read more about that here.

What else is on your season 5 wishlist for the series? There is still time to put a list together as updates continue to be released the closer we get to the premiere date, which should be in spring 2020.

Stay tuned, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest!
