The first part of BoJack Horseman’s two-part final season premiered on October 25, but when can we expect to see part two come to Netflix?

Possible minor spoilers for BoJack Horseman to follow!

The first part of BoJack Horseman‘s final season has come to Netflix and the existential, introspective comedy makes it clear that this is really the beginning of the end.

The beginning of the new season takes us right back where we left off at Pastiches Malibu Rehab Center where BoJack checked in at the end of season 5. From there, we get to see BoJack visit those from his past, tie up any loose ends, and get closure from those who are important to him.

On September 27, the official twitter account for the show revealed through a trailer that season 6 would be a two-part finale. The first eight episodes were released on Oct. 25 and the final eight are releasing on Jan. 31, 2020. Check out the video below if you haven’t seen the announcement!

This two-part final season is so far a big contrast to what we’ve seen before from BoJack Horseman. As we know, through the whole show we’ve been reminded of BoJack’s involvement with Sarah Lynn’s death and how BoJack is trying to not be reminded of it.

This is precisely what makes this two-part season so interesting. At the end of the last episode, when BoJack’s half-sister Hollyhock is exploring New York City, she encounters a young man named Peter. Pretty soon, we realize that we’ve seen Peter before and that he knows about how BoJack ultimately contributed to Sarah Lynn’s decline and death. However, the episode ends with Peter being unsure about revealing BoJack’s name to Hollyhock.

We’re left with some time to reflect after the reveal before we’re thrown back into what I’m sure is going to be a very messy situation.

BoJack Horseman has always been a gritty comedy that fans have praised for addressing real-life situations in a realistic sort of way. There really isn’t any sugar-coating what happens in the show and it even addresses topics we don’t get to see that often in the media like having a character come out as and come to terms with being asexual, which Aaron Paul (voice of Todd) says in an article from Allure has helped fans of the show come out.

I’m sure we can only expect great things from the Emmy nominated show moving forward as we anxiously await the new episodes coming in January. Make sure you stay tuned for any more news about BoJack Horseman and look out for a review of part one of season 6 coming soon!
