17. Wonderland

Who’s in it: Mark Wahlberg, Winston Duke, Post Malone, Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, Bokeem Woodbine, and many more.

Why put it on your list: The strong casting is definitely the reason to check out the fifth time the novel Wonderland is being adapted into a movie. After all, you would think after five times, people would stop trying to adapt the book into an excellent movie. Sometimes you just need to get the recipe right for success.

Not only does this Netflix original movie have the right case, but it also has the right creator. Sean O’Keefe is adapting this, with Neal H. Moritz producing. Those who love the novel will certainly want to give this a chance, especially when it comes to the standout talent connected to it.

The idea is that this one movie will turn into a franchise of films. Netflix wants to adapt various novels by Robert B. Parker, and there are 40 of them to choose from! It should be all that surprising that Wonderland is the first, setting the stage for the characters.

Wonderland is excellent for crime drama fans. It follows a boxer who decides to get his private investigator’s license. However, after a stretch in prison, the license has been taken away from him and he’s pulled into the darkness of the Boston crime world. There’s a murder, a twisted conspiracy, and much more going on.
