18. Chronicles of Narnia movies

Who’s in it: No cast members have been confirmed just yet.

Why put it on your list: Over the years, there has been one series of books that has captured the hearts of adults and children alike. C.S. Lewis’ book series The Chronicles of Narnia has seen many adaptations. Some have been great but some just haven’t worked out. Now it’s Netflix’s turn to attempt the adaptations.

While the world is full of reboots and book adaptations, some bring in far more positivity than others. This is one of those series, because it really is time that we get to see a series of episodes or of movies done just right. With the budget that Netflix would have available, that’s something that could happen.

One of the great things about the Chronicles of Narnia movies is that it doesn’t sound like just one movie or even just a series of movies based purely on the books. There are TV shows and movies planned, as a way to expand the universe and great something more like Game of Thrones but for children. Take out the gore and the nudity and replace it with epic world-building and magnificent creatures.

Plus, Netflix is starting from a different point to everyone else. Due to the popularity of the book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe tends to be the starting point. Yet, this is the second novel in the entire series. Netflix wants to start with the books in the Harper Collins order, beginning with The Magician’s Nephew. There’s a chance to see more of the world immediately developed, learning more of Narnia.

There is a chance that the series of movies will be darker. This has happened with Anne with an E, but it’s still going to be something for families.
