Eleven is Kevin Durant. The Mind Flayer is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Demogorgon is LeBron James. We matched the Stranger Things characters with NBA players.

In honor of the start of the 2019-2020 NBA season, we matched the Stranger Things characters with current NBA players. Which Stranger Things characters represent your favorite NBA player?

There are no rules. We simply picked out similarities between these NBA stars and the stars of the hit Netflix original series Stranger Things.

Let’s get the list started with everyone’s favorite character, Eleven!

Eleven: Kevin Durant

Before tearing his Achilles, Kevin Durant was playing otherworldly basketball. I don’t want to get bogged down in stats (because who cares?), but he was on a tear through the playoffs, and he looked like the best player in the world. He was unstoppable. Just like Eleven is, virtually, unstoppable in Stranger Things.

Durant is out for the season, and Eleven doesn’t have powers right now after suffering a leg injury, but I expect these two to be at full strength soon.

Demogorgon: LeBron James

Some people probably think LeBron should be matched with Eleven, and it’s close. But, let’s not pretend LeBron is even human, or even superhuman, at this point. He’s a monster!

There are only a few people who can stop LeBron at full strength, just like there are only a few people who can stop a Demogorgon at full strength.

The Mind Flayer: Giannis Antetokounmpo

This is one of my favorite matches, and I don’t think any fans will have any disagreements. Like LeBron and Durant, Antetokounmpo is also virtually unstoppable but in a different way than anyone else.

Antetokounmpo is the most physically imposing player in the world. Although he and the Mind Flayer have taken a few Ls in the last few years, the sky is the limit for their potential. It’s only a matter of time before Antetokounmpo takes over this world and the next.

Lucas: Steph Curry

I struggled a little bit with this one, but then it hit me. There’s no one better from long-range than Steph Curry or Lucas Sinclair. Obviously, in Steph’s case, we’re talking 3-point shooting. In Lucas’s case, we’re talking sniping monsters with a slingshot.

He took down Billy in “The Sauna Test,” distracted the monster in the finale, and he came up with the idea to drop long-range bombs on the monster like Steph Curry in the final battle, which gave Hopper and Joyce enough time to close the gate.

Also, it should be noted that Caleb McLaughlin played in the NBA Celebrity Game, and he has game.

Chief Hopper: Ruby Gobert

I love this match. Chief Hopper is one of those characters who is rough and tough on the outside, but on the inside, he has a very sensitive and tender soul. The same seems to be true for the Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert.
