A list of 10 good, new Netflix movies and shows to watch this week, including Living with Yourself, Daybreak, Dolemite Is My Name, and more!

The list of good Netflix movies and shows to watch this fall is getting longer. Netflix is adding a bunch of new original shows this week. After a good weekend of new releases last week, there are plenty of good Netflix movies and shows to watch this week!

Let’s get the list started with one of the most recently released Netflix originals and the one that’s getting the most buzz!

Living with Yourself

Living with Yourself is the best Netflix original series of the fall so far. Paul Rudd and Aisling Bea star in this series, and they are excellent.

Rudd plays Miles, a man who is struggling in every facet of life. To turn things around, he undergoes a treatment from a spa in a strip mall, and he ends up with a clone of himself. And, that’s where things really start to get interesting.

This show is a must-watch on Netflix!

Eli is the latest horror movie for Netflix, and it’s definitely worth a watch. Basically, it tells the story of a young boy with a disease that keeps him quarantined from society. His family takes him to a very weird and possibly haunted treatment center. That’s all I’ll say about the plot of this one!

Stranger Things fans will want to watch this movie! Sadie Sink, aka Mad Max, stars in the new Netflix original movie.

The Laundromat

The Laundromat was just added to Netflix on Friday, Oct. 18. The film follows the investigation into the Panama Papers, which were financial documents that were leaked. They implicated rich people and politicians who were hiding money in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes.

Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas and more star in the film from Steven Soderbergh.

Jenny Slate: Stage Fright

Release Date: Tuesday, Oct. 22

Jenny Slate’s first stand-up comedy special premieres on Tuesday. If you like stand-up comedy, you should definitely give this one a watch on Netflix.

Release Date: Thursday, Oct. 24

Most new Netflix original shows don’t generate a ton of buzz before they are released, for the most part. It generally takes a while before a show pops, and that’s why it’s interesting to see how many fans are already waiting to tune in for Daybreak this week.

Daybreak is set after the apocalypse. A nuclear bomb destroys most adult life in Glendale, CA, and the rest of the world. Everyone is gone, except for a bunch of high school kids. We see them try to survive the apocalypse and fallout.

Check out the trailer for Daybreak above, and see if it looks like something you’re interested in.

The Kominsky Method

Release Date: Friday, Oct. 25

The Kominsky Method season 2 arrives on Netflix this weekend. Michael Douglas won the Golden Globe for his role in this great comedy series. If you haven’t seen it, you should definitely give it a watch on Netflix. I bet you’ll binge-watch the first season in two days. It’s that good!

BoJack Horseman

Release Date: Friday, Oct. 25

BoJack Horseman season 6 premieres on Netflix this week! You can watch new episodes on Friday, Oct. 25.

Unfortunately, this is the beginning of the end for this series. The series will end after season 6. This week, we get to see the first half of the final season. The second half of season 6 is coming to the streaming service in January 2020.

Dolemite Is My Name

Release Date: Friday, Oct. 25

Dolemite Is My Name is a Netflix original film starring Eddie Murphy that tells the story of Rudy Ray Moore, a comedian and actor who adopted the alter ego “Dolemite” in many of his roles. I’m super excited for this movie. I think it’s going to be excellent and one of the best Netflix movies of the year.

Prank Encounters

Release Date: Friday, Oct. 25

If you’re a Stranger Things superfan or just a fan of Gaten Matarazzo, you have to check out this show. Prank Encounters is a prank show hosted by Matarazzo, and from what I can gather, Matarazzo and his team will prank people who agree to do various short-term jobs.

When it was announced, people thought the premise was a little cruel with the pranking of people who are looking for work. But, it doesn’t seem like that to me at all. If you don’t like prank shows, this isn’t the show for you!

The Crown

Release Date: Sunday, Nov. 17

Netflix just shared The Crown season 3 trailer. If you’re not caught up on one of Netflix’s best shows, you better start soon! The Crown season 3 is coming in November with 10 new episodes and a new Queen!

Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter, Tobias Menzies and more star in season 3.
