Netflix shares first look at Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings anthology series
News about Netflix’s Heartstrings anthology series from Dolly Parton has been basically nonexistent, but that has finally changed. Take a look at the first images from the series.
If you’ve been waiting for news on Dolly Parton’s Netflix original anthology series, it’s finally here! Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings will take one of the country star’s songs per episode and use actors to play out the story each song represents.
We don’t know about all the episodes and songs used in those episodes, but we do know some, thanks to the tweet from Netflix’s See What’s Next account. So far, we know the series will feature “Jolene,” “These Old Bones,” “Two Doors Down,” “JJ Sneed,” “Cracker Jack,” “Down from Dover,” and “If I Had Wings” for the first eight episodes.
Netflix’s See What’s Next Twitter account just released the first images from the anthology. The pictures show the first look of Julianne Hough as Dolly in “Jolene,” Ginnifer Goodwin as Genevieve in “These Old Bones,” Melissa Leo and Andy Mientus in “Two Doors Down,” and Delta Burke, Michele Weaver and Tim Reid in “If I Had Wings.”
And of course, the show would be nothing if Dolly Parton herself wasn’t making a cameo. She will make an appearance in each episode.
Update: Netflix deleted the tweet with the first look at the series. We’ll share the images when they are shared again.
Hopefully, we’ll get more sneak peeks into the show as it gets closer to the release date. And speaking of the release date, that is also a mystery. Let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later.
