This Netflix movie is a Japanese thriller that looks into the darkness of human behavior. Kippei Shiina plays Joe Murata, who is full of charisma but also loves to manipulate the people around hime. When he meets Shin and other aspiring filmmakers, Murata finds himself in the middle of a turbulent relationship, struggling to tell the different between the film and reality.

Translated from French to English, Banlieusards is Street Flow. This French-language drama was directed and written by Kery James and also directed by Leïla Sy. It follows three brothers, with the main focus on 15-year-old Noumouké, who needs to decide whether he’s going the gangster route like his brother Demba or the lawyer route like his brother Soulaymaan.

La influencia

For those who need a little horror, La influencia is the movie to turn to. Meaning The Influence, the movie follows Alicia, who returns to her childhood home, a home she once fled, to look after her comatose mother. Alicia tries to rebuild her life with her husband and nine-year-old daughter, but some of the past refuses to die.
