According to a new survey, most Netflix subscribers will keep their Netflix subscription and won’t cancel when Disney Plus launches later this year.

It doesn’t sound like Netflix subscribers will be ditching the streaming network and signing up for Disney Plus when it launches next month!

According to new survey and report from High Speed Internet, 60 percent of subscribers said they would keep Netflix instead of signing up for Disney Plus if they had to choose between both streaming services.

Additionally, the survey found more than 60 percent of current streaming service subscribers will not leave their current service to sign up for Disney Plus, according to the survey.

Those are very interesting findings. Clearly, it shows most subscribers have confidence in Netflix to continue making incredible content like Stranger Things. It also appears there is some brand loyalty going on. With viewers having the ability to explore different options, it seems many people are happy with their current streaming service (Netflix, Hulu and Amazon).

More from Disney Plus

At first, I thought Disney Plus might have a chance to steal a lot of subscribers from Netflix and Amazon. Hulu is owned by Disney, basically, so that doesn’t really count anymore. Now, it looks more and more clear that subscribers are happy with the content that streaming services have to offer. There’s a lot of great shows and movies in the works at the various streaming services, and it’s fans don’t want to miss out.

That, too, was reflected in the survey, as well. Nearly 70 percent of those surveyed claimed the content was even more important than price when they were choosing a streaming service.

I think we knew as much, based on the latest trends. Streaming service will become more expensive in time. Right now, Disney is offering a great deal for Disney Plus at $6.99 per month or $69 per year.

Even with Disney’s seemingly infinite pot of gold, there’s no way they will keep prices that low. I’d expect them to raise prices after a few years to something more in line with what Netflix is at now, $12.99-ish per month.

Disney Plus launches on Nov. 12, and it’s going to be huge. According to the survey, almost 70 percent of those surveyed said they would be signing up for the streaming service. That’s a lot of people! Their growth should be fast.

It will be interesting to see if they are able to maintain those subscribers after the first few months. There’s a reason Netflix has new shows and movies coming out every week, after all.
