Riverdale season 4 starring Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch premieres on The CW and Netflix in one week!

We’re officially one week away from the premiere of Riverdale season 4! The new season premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9. The episode, titled “Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam,” airs at 8/7 C on The CW.

If you live outside of the US, you can also watch Riverdale while the season airs. New episodes are added to the streaming service one day after the episodes air on The CW, so you can stay caught up with Riverdale season 4 all year long!

Those who watch Riverdale will have to wait until the spring of 2020 to watch the new season on the streaming service, unfortunately. That’s because the show airs on The CW in the US, and it’s available on-demand for a few weeks after each episode airs.

The season premieres takes place over Fourth of July weekend in Riverdale. In the episode, Archie Andrews gets a phone call that changes his life – and the lives of all those in Riverdale – forever, according to The CW.

The premiere is a tribute to Luke Perry, the star of the series who passed away last spring. The show is honoring Perry and his character Fred Andrews in the first episode of the season. It will be a standalone-type episode, and then the rest of the season will pick back up with the second episode, “Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fast Times at Riverdale High,” on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

There’s a lot going on heading into Riverdale season 4, and we already know a lot about the new season. Thankfully, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and the cast was willing to share a lot of information about the new season at San Diego Comic-Con and elsewhere during the summer.

Most importantly, season 4 kicks off senior year for Archie, Betty, Veronica, Cheryl, Jughead and the rest of these characters. The show will be focusing on high school storylines even more than the last two seasons, so we should expect to see a lot more football, homecoming, and other senior year activities.

Of course, it’s not all going to be senior year fun! Jughead is going to a new school, and as we saw in the flashforward in the season 3 finale, Jughead was mysteriously absent. Cole Sprouse revealed that scene has something to do with his new school, so that will be interesting to monitor over the course of the season.
