10. Noelle

Just in time for the Christmas season, Disney Plus will be streaming Noelle, a new holiday film starring Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader. The film revolves around Santa’s kids, Nick and Noelle. Their father, Kris Kringle, is getting ready to retire and passes down his important role to his son, Nick. But when the stress of the job begins to get to Nick, someone else has to step up to the plate or kids will have no presents under the tree once Dec. 25 comes around.

That’s where Noelle comes in. She suggests Nick take a weekend off to relax but he ends up taking it too far and abandons the job completely.

Now, Noelle has to face the world outside of the North Pole for the first time ever. But, despite her fear, she goes out to find him so he’ll continue his work. While she looks, their cousin Gabriel (played by Billy Eichner) is left in charge of the workshop and ends up turning it into an online delivery service.

Trying to navigate the world beyond the home she’s always known, Noelle has to either find her brother or figure out and run the business herself. But she’s not going on this journey alone. She takes an elf named Polly (played by Shirley MacLaine) to help her along the way.

This movie looks sweet and funny and perfect to get you in the holiday spirit. It might come out before Thanksgiving, but is there ever really a bad time to feel joyful and merry? Not unless you want coal in your stocking.
