The season 5 finale of Fear The Walking Dead ended with a major character knocking on death’s door. Are they doomed or will a miraculous save happen?

We’re just going to come out and say it: Wow! Fear The Walking Dead’s season 5 finale was a rollercoaster ride with a lot of ups and downs but that ending was a shocker. The reason is it foreshadowed a major character’s death.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for the finale that airs on Sept. 29 on AMC. If you don’t want to know what happens, we suggest checking back after the episode airs!

During the last few minutes of the finale Ginny (Colby Minifie) decides she doesn’t need Morgan (Lennie James) anymore. She makes a longwinded speech and then puts a bullet in Morgan’s chest. She doesn’t finish the job but Morgan is left out in the open while a trail of walkers closes in on him. The scene cuts to black as he’s surrounded.

While the ending doesn’t depict Morgan being torn apart, it seems like the most logical conclusion at this point. Plus, he has a serious gunshot wound to the chest and Ginny’s people are the only ones with the equipment needed to dress it. All these factors make Morgan’s death seem assured.

On the other hand, someone running in to save Morgan at the last moment could happen. Maybe even one of his comrades hid out in Humbug’s Gulch while the trucks rolled out.

For those who don’t remember, Morgan counted 41 and then corrected himself by saying 40 people when Ginny asked him how many survivors were in the convoy. Ginny assumed the correction was because Tom recently passed away but maybe Morgan was concealing the exact number of people in their group. That way one person can stay behind and function as a backup plan.

Assuming there was one extra member in Morgan’s group, that person could run in to make the save at the very last second. They’d have to take down about 10 walkers but it’s not impossible. Now, if the situation were more like the Stadium where Madison (Kim Dickens) was surrounded by thousands of walkers then we could safely say Morgan is doomed. But since the situation isn’t so dire we’re still holding out hope he survives.

If Morgan does survive, he’s going to be in a bad way for an undetermined period of time. The type of wound he sustained won’t heal quickly, which means Morgan will have to sit on the sidelines for a while, that is assuming he makes it out of Humbug’s Gulch alive.

Do you think Morgan has a chance of making it to Fear the Walking Dead season 6 or will the opening show Morgan being devoured? Let us know in the comments.
