There’s good news and bad news for Big Mouth fans. First, the good news: You don’t have to wait long for your next fix, as the third season premieres on the first Friday of October. But the bad news is you will have to wait for seasons 4, 5 and 6 to premiere. The bad new is good news, though, since Netflix renewed Big Mouth for three more seasons, which gives the animated sensation the creative freedom to go wherever it wants. The exciting future starts this month.

Big Mouth centers on a group of 7th graders taking on the daunting task of going through puberty and the ever cringey awkward phase. Nick Birch (Nick Kroll) and Andrew Glouberman (John Mulaney) navigate the tricky territory of pre-adolescence with added pressures from their hormone monsters, and the kids come into contact with other people and personified objects that attempt to lend a helping hand through the pre-teens, but these nuggets of wisdom often lead to more confusion.

Since its premiere in 2017, Big Mouth has received critical acclaim, with both seasons holding an impeccable 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series has been nominated for two Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program, and boasts a roster of recognizable voices in its main, recurring and guest casts. If you haven’t given Big Mouth a chance these past two seasons, four more will be arriving in the next few years, beginning with season three on Oct. 4.
