Even though shows are being pulled from Netflix and other streaming service left and right thanks to the impending streaming boom occurring later this year and next year, there’s still a wide variety of staples left standing. And there’s no way that every Netflix subscriber has watched every show they have to offer. If you’re looking for something new to get into, Peaky Blinders has been an under-the-radar player since 2014, and its latest season easily ranks as one of the best new releases hitting our watch lists this October.

Peaky Blinders centers on the Shelby crime family as they live and work in Birmingham, England in the aftermath of World War I and beyond. The series’ fictional gang draws inspiration from Peaky Blinders, a real urban youth gang that reigned in the 1890s. Cillian Murphy plays the gang’s leader, Tommy Shelby, who’s hell-bent on moving up and through the world by any means necessary. The fifth season begins on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1929, otherwise known as Black Tuesday, and follows the exploits of the gang through the tumult that rang around the world.

Peaky Blinders debuted on BBC Two in September 2013 and became available on Netflix the following year. The series has been nominated for a number of awards and has one multiple, including BAFTA Awards, though it hasn’t broken out in the major stateside ceremonies. The upcoming six-episode fifth season joins the previous four season, which each of six episodes. It’s never too soon to start binge-watching a popular series, especially since Peaky Blinders could continue for at least two more seasons. Stream the latest season on Oct. 4.
