19. Peaky Blinders

Premiere date: Oct. 4

If historical fiction is what you are into, keep an eye out for Peaky Blinders, there’s so much to catch up on! Here’s why you need to have the crime-drama on your radar this fall TV season.

Peaky Blinders stars Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Sam Neill, Tom Hardy, and many others. It’s a brilliant cast that round-up a captivating series from the United Kingdom. Because this is an international series, Netflix brings is to a wider audience by hosting it on its streaming service, and we’re so glad they do!

The British action drama was created by Steven Knight and premiere in Sept. 2013, there are currently five seasons you need to catch up on if you are new to the series. Fear not, if you have yet to watch Peaky Blinders, I won’t be spoiling any details about it here! If you have long been a fan, know that the fifth season of Peaky Blinders goes live on Netflix Oct. 4, will you be watching?

I always enjoy re-watching at least a few previous episodes as a refresher before a new season begins. If that’s you, we’re lucky Netflix continues to have all seasons available to stream.

Peaky Blinders follows the Shelby family and their life of crime in the aftermath of World War I. As you may have already guessed from the series’ title, the crime gang is loosely based on the real one from the 19th century of the same name. A lot has happened since the premiere, though, so I’ll say no more!
