12. The Crown

Premiere date: Nov. 17

Even if you have never watched The Crown on Netflix, you have certainly heard about it! It’s tough not to, unless you’ve been living under a rock. The Crown is a Golden Globe winner as well as an Emmy-winning series. And watch out, the series is likely coming to gather more awards, soon!

Netflix hasn’t given us a full-length trailer for The Crown season 3, unfortunately. But expect one soon! The streaming giant loves to keep us on our toes. It’s not unlike them to suddenly surprise us with a trailer and debut date, and I’m betting that’ll happen with the third season of The Crown.

Netflix hasn’t left us completely in the dark, though, they did release a few photos for fans of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in season 3, she’ll be replacing Claire Foy in the role. Photos also show Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret. Oh, and you can’t forget about the Queen’s adorable corgis, we can spot them in a photo, too.

Everyone is asking if Princess Diana will make an appearance this season. An actress has been cast to play her (Emma Corrin), but we won’t see her until season 4.

If you’re a new fan or are considering getting into it, the historical drama (as if you didn’t already guess) follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The first season begins with Elizabeth as a young woman receiving the news that she is now Queen. The Crown is set to be a six-season series with 10 episodes each season.
