Lucifans are highly anticipating the fifth and final season of Lucifer and trying to keep up with all the updates. If this sounds like you, we’ve rounded up every update so far!

Knowing the final season of Lucifer is coming up, Lucifans are religiously searching for updates and keeping up with the latest. There have been so many teasers and photos from cast members to soak in. From cast and crew members tweeting photos, episode titles, and more! If you feel like you’ve missed a few updates, we list them all, below!

Let’s begin with the first fact that was revealed early on after season 4 concluded: as much as we would love an infinite amount of seasons, Lucifer season 5 will serve as the closing chapter for the handsome devil. Despite its massive popularity and record-breaking viewership, this is the sad truth! It’s not all bad, though. Knowing this is the final season, our favorite cast and crew can better prepare and plan for a satisfying finale we’ll all love.

Here are other Lucifer updates that have surfaced since the season 5 renewal you may have missed.

When does Lucifer season 5 premiere on Netflix?

Even though Netflix was quick to renew the series, they haven’t been as quick to give fans a premiere date. Filming began already and some episode titles have even been revealed (more on that soon), but no launch date, yet! Still, knowing all other details, and going off how season 4 premiered in spring 2019, we believe season 5 will come to Netflix in spring 2020. May 2020 is our best guess.

How many episodes will season 5 have?

A short season would have likely ruined our favorite series. Luckily, Netflix is giving us 16 episodes! That should be plenty of time to wrap up all stories and give us the happy ending we (and Lucifer) deserve.

Has a trailer or poster been released?

Sadly, no teaser trailer just yet, and the only image we have is the one teased by Tom Ellis himself via Instagram, check it out above! The image reads “see you in hell,” which fits the theme season 5 will follow, which is Lucifer returning to rule Hell knowing those he loves are not safe if he remains on Earth.

What are the episode titles?

Filming has already begun and the episode title for the first two episodes have been revealed. The season 5 premiere is titled “Really Sad Devil Guy” and it’s both hilarious and sad. But it’s the title for Lucifer season 5, episode 2 we find the most interesting, the title is “Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!” More episodes will surely be revealed soon, we’ll keep you posted!

Who will star?

From what we’ve seen in tweets teasing the filming and reading of the upcoming season, we can confirm that Tom Ellis, Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Kevin Alejandro and Lesley-Ann Brandt will return. We’re still keeping an eye out for Inbar Lavi’s return, who portrays Eve.

What will season 5 be about?

The biggest issue season 4 left us with is Lucifer’s departure. He confessed his love to Chloe and she begged him not to leave. But knowing Chloe and the others are not safe as long as he is on Earth, Lucifer makes the crushing decision to return to rule Hell.

The first mission will be bringing Lucifer back, but that won’t be taking 16 episodes to happen. I believe Lucifer will return to Earth rather quickly, but the problem will be keeping Lucifer there. There will also be other surprises in store. The series won’t give us #Deckerstar that easily!

What are you most looking forward to watching this coming season? At the top of our wishlist is a Deckerstar finale! Be sure to check back as we keep you posted with more updates!
