The first trailer for The Crown season 3 is here!

Netflix shared the first teaser trailer featuring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown season 3. Colman takes over the role after Claire Foy exited following season 2.

The Crown season 3 is coming to Netflix on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019.

In the teaser trailer, we see the Queen going over the new profile of herself. She looks at the profile from her younger days, as one of her counselors explains why the change is necessary and the artist’s intentions. They view it as the “transition between young woman to –”

The Queen, then, interrupts with, “old bat?”

It’s a great introduction to the older version of the character. At the end of the trailer, we can see the Queen is not exactly pleased about the profile, but she doesn’t cause a scene. She simply says, “A great many changes. Nothing one can do about it. One just has to get on with it.”

And, I think that’s going to be the theme of the season in many ways. There is a whole new cast, of course, with Colman, Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham Carter joining the series and Foy, Matt Smith and Vanessa Kirby leaving the series.

The first two seasons of The Crown are now streaming on Netflix, and they make a great rewatch. There’s so much stuff going on in this series that it’s hard to remember all the great moments.

The third season is going to be one of the biggest Netflix events of the year. The season premieres on Nov. 17, on a Sunday for some weird reason. It’s just in time for Thanksgiving in the United States and the holiday season. There’s no doubt this show will be one of the year’s most popular shows over the holiday season.

We have to assume Netflix will share a few more trailers for this show in the build-up to the season’s release. There might be something in the works at the Emmys this weekend with this new teaser. Watch for that full trailer this fall!
