The CW shared the new poster for Riverdale season 4, featuring Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead. Watch the trailer for season 4 below!

We’re a few weeks away from the Riverdale season 4 premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and the season 4 poster has finally arrived!

The CW and Riverdale shared the poster for the new season on social media about a week after the first official trailer for Riverdale was released. We don’t know what it all means, but it looks interesting!

The poster, which we shared below, features many of Riverdale High’s Senior class, including Archie, Veronica, Betty, Jughead, Cheryl, Toni, Kevin and Reggie. Each character is represented in their own snapshot in the poster that looks like it’s shot on a videotape. It’s divided like an Archie Comics comic book. The poster also features a tagline, “Sex. Lies. Videotapes.”

That’s one of my favorite posters for Riverdale so far! I really liked the season 3 poster, too. Where season 3 brought many of these characters together, and that’s what was represented poster, I think season 4 might be a little bit different. Each character will likely have to go through their own journey in the new season, and that seems to be what’s on display in this poster.

The most interesting part of the poster is the tagline, ” Sex. Lies. Videotapes.” Obviously, that’s a nod to Steven Soderbergh’s 1989 film Sex, Lies, and Videotape, but I have no idea how that film will relate to this season of Riverdale. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of how that film can contribute to this story, but perhaps there will be some choices that can be of use in the season. We all know how much this show loves the ’80s. The posters also look similar.

As mentioned, the trailer for Riverdale season 4 was just released last week. If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to check it out! We have some big questions after watching the trailer, which features a missing Jughead, Betty getting knocked out with a rifle and so much more.
