Thought the apocalypse would be filled with terror and mayhem? Guess again! Daybreak’s official teaser suggests there’s a lot of fun.

The first official teaser for Netflix’s upcoming original, Daybreak, is finally here. After giving us a look at the Mad Max meets High School Musical series last week in a collection of still images, we now get to see just how fun the apocalypse is going to be.

During the teaser, we’re first introduced to the boring, 82-degree world of opportunity. You can tell that the teens just want something exciting to happen, and there are flashes of how the various groups remain together in the aftermath of the apocalypse, getting quick glimpses of their costumes. However, this isn’t going to be your typical apocalypse series.

Don’t expect the usual horror, blood, guts, and screaming. Okay, so those usual aspects of an apocalypse show may still be there, but Daybreak is doing things a little differently. The teaser is all about the fun.

Colin Ford takes center stage as he shows off where he sees himself in the future. It’s the middle of an apocalypse and he’s part of a ragtag team of survivors. It looks like very little has changed for his group of friends, especially when it comes to outfits. The same can’t be said for the jocks and the cheerleaders.

You’ll certainly want to take a look at this teaser for Daybreak. While it won’t give you a full look at what to expect (to be honest, I never solely go off a teaser or a promo), it will set the stage for the fun to be had. This isn’t a show that wants to take itself seriously, and neither should you!

One thing is clear: the apocalypse is just like high school.

Daybreak is going to be released at the end of the month on Oct. 24, in time for Halloween. Before that, the cast will be at New York Comic-Con 2019, where congoers will get an exclusive look at the very first episode. It’s time to get ready for a fun apocalypse.
