One of the more underrated movies on this list, Hercules is a Disney classic based on the son of Zeus, Heracles.
He goes by the Roman name Hercules in the movie, and it starts us off in Ancient Greece as the The Muses sing us the story of when the Titans were imprisoned by Zeus for the havoc they wreaked on the Earth. Then we are taken into Mount Olympus where all the Gods and Goddesses live, and we are first introduced to Hercules and Zeus’ brother, Hades.
Hades is secretly plotting on overthrowing his brother so he may take over, and one of his fated obstacles to his goal was Hercules. So, he sends out his minions to kill Hercules who only manage to turn him mortal and he is sent to live with mortals as a mortal can’t live on Mount Olympus.
After visiting the temple of Zeus, he speaks to his father and finds out the only way he may return home is if he proves himself a true hero. With the help of his winged horse Pegasus, a satyr named Philoctetes (voiced by Danny Divito) and Megara, Hercules walks the path to find out what it means to be a true hero to find his way home.
