After the grizzly bear attack in Riverdale season 3 nearly killed Archie, we put together a list of animals Archie should watch out for in Riverdale season 4!

Archie Andrews can’t seem to catch a break in the last two seasons of Riverdale. Many people – and animals – have tried to kill the Red Paladin, but he’s still alive and kicking after a near-death experience in season 3.

In the ninth episode of Riverdale season 3, Archie was attacked and nearly killed by a grizzly bear while he was hiding out in Canada on the run from Hiram and the law. It was one of the weirdest and most ridiculous moments in the season so far, and that’s saying something with this show!

Because Archie has been repeatedly tortured in the series, there’s no reason to assume another animal won’t attack Archie if it has the chance in season 4.

After the bear attack in season 3, there are a few more animals Archie should watch out for in the new season.

Snakes

More from Riverdale

There are plenty of snakes in Riverdale, thanks to the Southside Serpents. Back in the first season, we saw Hermione Lodge threatened by the serpents with a well-placed rattlesnake in a box at Pop’s while Hermione was working.

Based on the climate of Riverdale, I don’t think there are any rattlesnakes in the wild, so if Archie were to get bitten by one, it’d be from someone with a “snake” guy, which would have to be one of the Serpents.

Archie seems to be on good terms with most of the serpents right now, so I don’t foresee any rattlesnake-in-a-box deliveries to the Andrews house or Archie’s boxing gym in the future. But, I definitely didn’t see the bear attack coming either.

Lions/Tigers

I don’t know if there’s a zoo in Riverdale, or a zoo nearby, but Archie needs to watch his back.

You all know the saying from the Wizard of Oz, “Lions, tigers, bears, oh my!” Archie has already been attacked by a bear, obviously. That leaves lions and tigers, and Archie does not want to be attacked by a lion or a tiger.

Is the circus coming to Riverdale in season 4?

Wolves

Like bears, wolves are definitely much more suited for the climate of Riverdale than snakes, lions and tigers, and that means Archie might be in danger of a wolf attack in season 4.

I don’t think Archie is going on any more excursions into the woods in the new season, but he might be going camping. Hey, maybe, that flashforward scene is referring to a wolf attack? Betty, Veronica, and Archie could have been covered in wolf blood around the fire. Maybe Jughead was injured in the attack?

A wolf attack is very unlikely in season 4, but so was a bear attack in season 3.

House Cats

How common are cat attacks? I don’t know about that, but there is one cat that I have in mind that could attack Archie: Salem from Greendale.

Yes, I’m talking about Sabrina’s cat, Salem, who also happens to be her familiar. If there’s a Riverdale-Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover in season 4, Archie definitely should watch out for little Salem.

Oh, and if there is a crossover, there are wolves in the Greendale woods that Archie should definitely watch out for, too.

Werewolves

Okay, so I don’t know if this one counts, but I’m going to include it anyway. With the Jughead: The Hunger comics from Archie comics, there’s definitely a possible storyline or two Robert Aguirre-Sacasa and the writers could use if they want to introduce werewolves into Riverdale.

I think it’s a great idea to do standalone episodes of specials that dive into some of the other popular horror comics, and Jughead: The Hunger is one of them. And, based on how this series has gone so far, if there’s anyone who would be bitten by a werewolf, it’s Archie!

Along with that, there’s also a new horror novel in the works at Archie Comics called A Werewolf in Riverdale. It’s scheduled to be released on April 7, 2020. It’s going to be awesome!
