Netflix just announced Grace and Frankie season 6 is coming to Netflix in January 2020, and there’s more big news for fans of the hit Netflix original series.

Netflix has announced when fans can expect the new season of Grace and Frankie! According to a tweet from Netflix’s See What’s Next account, Grace and Frankie season 6 is coming to Netflix in January 2020.

The series starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin almost always has new seasons coming to the streaming service in January, so this should be no surprise for fans of the series. I don’t know why Netflix needed to announce it right now, but I’m definitely not complaining!

That’s not all the big Grace and Frankie news either! Netflix also just announced, via the official Grace and Frankie Twitter account, that the show has already been renewed for season 7 and it will be the final season of the series.

They did not reveal when to expect the final season of the series, but based on previous release dates for new seasons, we can expect season 7 to be released on Netflix in January or February 2021. Grace and Frankie has basically become Netflix’s go-to January show for the last several years.

When the show ends its seven-season run on Netflix, Grace and Frankie will become Netflix’s longest-running series with 94 episodes. Right now, the show is Netflix’s comedy with the most episodes right now, but that will be passed by The Ranch when it releases new episodes this fall. Then, the series will pass The Ranch with season 6 and season 7.

It sounds like the final season will actually be 16 episodes, so Netflix might release the final season in two parts. Right now, through five seasons, there have been 65 episodes of the series. Season 6 is expected to be 13 episodes, as well, so that’s 78 episodes through six seasons.

If the series will end with 94 episodes, as Netflix says it will, that means the final season will be 16 episodes.
