Even though the black comedy crime film 68 Kill isn’t a Netflix original movie, there are still plenty of Netflix connections to be made among its cast. First of all, the film stars Alisha Boe, who stars in 13 Reasons Why as Jessica, which is one of the streamer’s most popular shows right now. The film also stars Matthew Gray Gubler, who also appears in Criminal Minds (which streams on Netflix), and AnnaLynne McCord, who also headlined 90210 (which used to stream and Netflix and desperately needs to return).

Clearly, the cast is worth tuning into 68 Kill for alone. Based on the novel of the same name by Bryan Smith, stars Matthew Gray Gubler as Chip, who lives in a trailer and pumps sewage for a living. But he’s head over heels in love with his abusive girlfriend Liza (AnnaLynne McCord), who announces her plan to steal $68K and receives Chip’s support. Suddenly, Liza’s simple heist of some cash turns into a wild, violent and bloody crime spree that forces Chip to see the “love of his life” for the unhinged criminal she really is.

68 Kill comes from writer-director Trent Haaga and made its first premiere South By Southwest in March 2017. The film was then picked up by IFC Midnight and received a limited and video on demand release in the summer of 2017. 68 Kill holds a 68% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but didn’t appear to live a life beyond its initial release. That is, until it makes its debut on Netflix at the top of the month, when you can catch a killer cast in one of the best new Netflix movies.
