One of the internet’s favorite shows is finally back! Élite premiered on Netflix last October and quickly earned two things: a fervent online fanbase and a season 2 renewal. In a time when Netflix isn’t being as stingy with the cancellation ax, Élite was one of the elite few Netflix shows to grab a pickup with a week of its initial release. Well, the long but not even a year-long wait for the second season will end this September, when the world can binge-watch the twists and turns together.

Élite follows three working-class friends who find themselves rubbing elbows with a different crowd when their school closes and they’re given scholarships to enroll in Las Encinas, an exclusive private prep school in Spain. When the trio arrives, they’re immediately looked down upon by the wealthy students, but they soon find themselves making friends and enemies and getting caught up in drama with their fellow classmates.

Proving that the series has become a sleeper hit, Élite holds a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a tough feat for a serialized drama series, or any television series for that matter. In a television landscape where the teen fare is back in but the stakes have been heightened, Élite slid right in and will be the perfect watch for fans of Gossip Girl. If you haven’t yet gotten hooked on the hottest Netflix teen drama, there’s still time to watch season 1’s eight episodes before the next season premieres and drops jaws on Sept. 6.
