A fan inspired by Fear The Walking Dead has done the incredible and decided to spread a meaningful message to others in her community. Find out more below.
While there are many criticisms of Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 currently circulating around the internet, there’s one thing no individual can deny—the show is sending a positive message to its’ viewers. The reason we know people are learning from Fear is that one fan took a simple idea featured on the show and applied it to her own life in a meaningful way.
What Kim Meadows of West Virginia did was she left boxes of supplies for the homeless to take as needed. She filled the boxes with things like hand warmers, thermal blankets, sporks, liquid soap, combs, travel toothbrushes, MRE’s, solar flashlights, and sunscreen. The boxes also came accompanied by a familiar quote: Take what you need and leave what you don’t.
Warning! Spoilers for the latest episodes of FTWD follow.
People who watch Fear The Walking Dead will recognize the line as the key phrase coined by Logan (Matt Frewer) and Clayton (Stephen Henderson). They crafted the eloquent quote while preparing to deliver supply boxes at the highway markers. It’s still being utilized by Morgan’s crew in their adventure but now we can see the message is making an impact on our own world.
The intriguing bit about Ms. Meadows’ humanitarian actions is that more people may follow her lead. Those boxes were originally designed to inspire fictional characters but if real boxes begin cropping up around the United States, perhaps more people will find themselves willing to do the same. And it doesn’t require much, just what the box says: Take what you need and leave what you don’t.
All in all, the inspirational message which Ms. Meadows is spreading to others will benefit everyone. Even if we all don’t prepare boxes for the homeless, seeing such a positive message on something so unassuming should resonate with all passersby. Hopefully, others see the same box and are motivated by the simple gesture to do something too.
