El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is coming to Netflix; here’s everything that you need to know about the Breaking Bad sequel starring Aaron Paul.

The Breaking Bad movie is finally happening—on Netflix. The streamer announced Saturday that the film is coming exclusively to Netflix, and it’s premiering in less than two months! So here’s all the details fans need to prepare themselves for this hugely anticipated sequel.

What’s the movie’s title?

The movie is called El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which is a reference to the car that Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) used to flee the White Supremacist compound in the series finale, “Felina,” which aired almost six years ago—Sept. 23, 2013.

When is the Breaking Bad movie release date?

El Camino will stream on Netflix starting Friday, October 11, 2019.

Who stars in the Breaking Bad movie?

Aaron Paul stars in the film reprising his role of Jesse Pinkman.

The only other cast member who has been officially revealed yet is Charles Baker, who appears as Skinny Pete in the movie’s teaser trailer—which you can watch at the bottom of this article—telling an assemblage of cops that he doesn’t know where Jesse has disappeared to.

Is Bryan Cranston in the Breaking Bad movie?

It’s unknown if Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as Walter White in the Breaking Bad movie; he wasn’t announced as part of the cast on Saturday.

The movie’s timing (see below) makes it sound unlikely Walt will be there, since he died previously—but he could turn up in a flashback or some kind of hallucination or other trick Jesse’s mind plays on him. Breaking Bad is known for surprises, and it wouldn’t be a Breaking Bad movie without Bryan Cranston.

Is it a sequel or a prequel?

The film is a sequel, not a prequel as was once rumored—it picks up after the end of the series with Jesse on the run. We don’t know yet how much time will have passed between the finale and the movie, though it doesn’t sound like much when you read the description.

What’s the movie about?

The official Breaking Bad movie synopsis from Netflix says: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”

Who’s making the movie?

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is writing and directing the movie. Aaron Paul is one of the film’s executive producers, and Sony Pictures TV, which produced the series, is also involved in the project.

Where can you watch the Breaking Bad movie teaser?
