BoJack Horseman Twitter asks fans to photoshop Emmy billboard
By Madison Sago
In true BoJack Horseman fashion, the show’s Twitter asks fans to create photoshopped “for your consideration” billboards in a humorous Emmy campaign.
Possible minor spoilers for BoJack Horseman season 5 ahead!
For the first time since 2017, the hit Netflix Original BoJack Horseman has been nominated for an Emmy award in the 2019 Television Academy Emmys.
Actress Kristen Schaal was nominated for her voice over work as character Sarah Lynn in the show. While her work as the troubled, tragic character is truly commendable, many fans of the show are saying that this year the show is getting the recognition it truly deserves.
Specifically, the episode “Free Churro” from season 5 was nominated for “Outstanding Animated Program”. The episode features BoJack (Will Arnett) delivering a half-hour monologue/eulogy for his mother, baring his soul and sharing their most intimate and personal moments and struggles, only to find out he had been in the wrong funeral parlor the whole time.
Recently, the show’s official Twitter account (@BoJackHorseman) sent out a tweet asking for fans to photoshop a “FYC” billboard to use as advertisements for the Television Academy during Emmy voting season.
And some of the answers to this request are hilarious!

The billboard designs are still coming in even at the time of writing this, so make sure you follow @BoJackHorseman on Twitter to see more!
“Free Churro” is probably in my top five, if not my personal favorite episode of the show. I’m glad to see this Netflix Original finally getting the recognition it’s deserved since day one. BoJack Horseman is up against others including Big Mouth and The Simpsons so it seems like there’s some tough competition! I’ve got my hopes high as fans continue to provide us with tweets and billboards of support!
You can catch the 2019 Emmy Awards September 22 at 8pm est. live on Fox!
We still don’t know when to expect new episodes of BoJack Horseman. The show is returning for season 6 at Netflix, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the new season. We’ll be sure to let you know more about the release date when we find out.
